About the Monkeygirl

Capula, sculpture you can climb on at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, WA.
Hi, my name is Nina Suetake, a.k.a. Monkey or Monkeygirl. I started this blog mainly to post my ramblings about climbing and running but it's slowly morphing into my "everything" blog.
I've been climbing on and off for about 15 years but only started consistently climbing in the last 3 years. These days most of my free time is spent thinking about and planning climbing trips or drooling over new gear. I love to chat about gear and crags so feel free to find me on Twitter, Facebook, or email if you are so inclined.
I'm a pretty avid runner though running still comes in second to climbing. I used to exclusively run on trails but I've been convinced, through marathon training, that road running isn't entirely awful.
I'm proud to be an attorney for the non-profit organization, The Utility Reform Network, and I like to think I'm fighting against corporate greed. Most of the time I'm just slamming my head repeatedly against a wall, but I still find it rewarding to fight big energy companies.
My other interests include snowboarding, reading, watching movies (particularly sci-fi and action movies), camping, good food, hanging out with friends, occasionally knitting, Scotch whiskey, buttered toast, PIE!, and gummy candies.
